Friulane shoes (or call them Furlanes) are the historical shoes of Friulian tradition: simple lines combined with refined bordeaux velvet, fresh cotton lining and a rubber sole. They were originally homemade by women from villages in the mountains, then they found new life among the Venetian canals: the gondoliers needed a comfortable, stable and delicate shoe on the wood. The hand stitching has remained just as it once was: hands make each shoe a unique piece with their irregular motion. Today these shoes are a symbol of elegance: wear them with grey "tropical" woolen trousers with pleats and a blue linen jersey polo shirt. A chat at the bar, the pleasure of reading the newspaper.
